From Furniture to Architecture

What happens when large-scale 3D printing moves beyond furniture?

The same technology we use to produce furniture can be scaled and adapted for architecture, construction and industrial manufacturing.

Large-format robotic 3D printing opens up possibilities to create architectural elements, building components and full-scale structures directly from digital models.

Printing architecture

Instead of being limited by conventional manufacturing methods, robotic printing allows complex forms to be produced layer by layer.

Large architectural elements can be manufactured directly from a digital file, while geometries that would normally require complicated tooling can become much easier to produce.

This creates new possibilities for:

  • Architectural elements and façades
  • Interior structures and partitions
  • Pavilions and small-scale buildings
  • Custom construction components
  • One-off and site-specific architecture

The scale changes. The principle remains the same: digital design becomes physical production.

The question is no longer only what can we print?

It is: what should we print?
